A MIS COMPAÑEROS DE TEMA: (VER EN INGLES)

____________________________ My name is Iván Saldaña Oyarzábal. I am participating in this program as a member of the UDLA´s student group. I will take part as collaborator on the “Environment” subject. As an introduction of myself I could say that I am a 24 years old new biologist (I got graduate last month) interested in plant molecular biology, scientifically talking but in many other typical things as read, dance, travel and talk (many people think that this last thing is not only my pleasure but my need). Right now I am living in a small city named Morelia, here in Mexico, where I worked as a lab assistant. However, this job will finish on December, when I should travel to England in order to start my postgraduate studies. In case you want to contact me please write to: isaldana@hotmail.com

DEAR “Environment” PARTNERS: Being this subject so vast and dangerously undetermined, I find imperative to find, as soon as possible, the joints between each one of our research topics, so we can define common interests for further discussions.

As a first step to produce a real interactive contribution between all of us, it is vital to know what is the other people doing. To do so, I propose to write a one-page explanation of each of our research topics, trying to clearly define what is our main thesis or goal, why it is important to be consider in a reunion as the one we will have, and how our research could deal with things that are not only restricted to your own country but others in the Americas.

The next step will be the feedback. By a second one-page document we could point out what things looked to be interconnected between each one of our research topics. Identification of these connecting links will help us to develop an starting point for future work. If we do not make this preparation work with order and discipline, at the reunion we would easily fall in no-sense discussions and a lost of direction.

A tentative due date for the synthesis of your research, What do you think about 25th August. And a week latter we could email the response.

Please consider my idea and answer me with your opinion,

Thanks, Iván Saldaña Oyarzábal
